This Privacy Policy explains how SpeedCube AI Analyzer (“the service”, “we”, “us”) handles information across the Browser Timer and mobile app. We collect only what is needed to provide the features you choose. We do not sell personal information or use third-party advertising trackers.
The short version: Browser practice starts in local storage and can be synced when you sign in. Mobile AI coaching is optional and sends up to 12 compressed JPEG still images plus timing, pause, and cube-type data through Supabase to Anthropic. It does not send the MP4 or audio.
Accounts use passwordless sign-in provided through Supabase. When you sign in, you provide an email address and receive a one-time code. Supabase stores the email and authentication records needed to maintain your account. We do not create an app password for you.
The Browser Timer stores sessions, solves, scrambles, penalties, and preferences locally in your browser. If you sign in, browser sessions and solves sync to Supabase so they can be available across browsers or devices. The mobile app stores timer data, recordings, on-device analysis, and AI coaching results in account-separated local databases, while app settings are stored locally on the device. The current mobile app does not sync recordings or coaching results to the web.
AI coaching in the mobile app is optional. When you request it, the app sends up to 12 compressed JPEG still images sampled from the recording, frame timestamps, solve start and end times, solve duration, detected pause windows, and an on-device cube guess to an authenticated Supabase Edge Function. The function forwards the images and analysis metadata to Anthropic. The MP4 file and audio are not sent. The app records video without microphone audio. AI output is an estimate, not move-by-move reconstruction.
If you link a WCA ID, the app uses it to request that person's publicly available competition data from the WCA's public results API. Your WCA ID is stored so the app remembers your link. The WCA data shown is public information published by the WCA; we do not receive any private WCA account credentials.
Our hosting and backend providers may process technical information needed to operate and secure the service, such as IP address, request metadata, and error or security logs. The current codebase does not include third-party advertising SDKs or cross-app advertising trackers.
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers who help us run the app:
The World Cube Association is the source of the public competition data shown in the app. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the service.
Local browser and mobile-app data remains on that browser or device until you delete it, clear site data, or uninstall the app, subject to device or browser backups. Browser sessions and solves synced to Supabase remain associated with your account until deleted through the service or an account-deletion request. The AI Edge Function does not write submitted images to our database or object storage; the returned coaching result is saved locally with the mobile recording. Supabase and Anthropic may retain request data or operational logs under their terms and configured settings. Their exact log and request-retention periods are not documented in the current codebase. See how to request account deletion.
Depending on where you live (for example, the EEA/UK or California), you may have additional rights over your personal data, including the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing. To exercise any of these, email us and we'll help.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections to our backend. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data and to limit what we collect in the first place.
The service is for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. A child under 13 must not create an account or submit recording images for AI coaching. Minors should use the service only with a parent or guardian involved. If you believe a child under 13 provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where required.
We operate the app and our service providers may process data in the United States and other countries. By using the app, you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in countries with different data-protection laws than your own.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be communicated within the app or by other appropriate means.
